Macon Telegraph | Tour de Georgia financially off track
Middle Georgia's newspaper chimes in on the financial problems facing the Tour de Georgia this year.
It's not uncommon for reporters who don't follow the sport to miss a fact or two, but this story's got a whopper:
In its fifth year, the 2007 Tour de Georgia is set to cover more than 600 miles from April 16 to April 22. It is regarded by many professional racers as the last major race before the Tour de France.
Right. Other than the Giro d'Italia, Dauphiné Libéré, and the Tour de Suisse.

That's hysterical. I fell out of my chair I laughed so hard.
Seriously, have they had any luck coming up with the money that they were short? I have my vacation planned around being there for the tour, and I want to make sure that it's still happening.
