Biking Bis | Savannah offers bike rides for Tour de Georgia
Gene Bisbee notes that Savannah's got two recreational rides planned for this weekend, in advance of the Tybee Island-to-Savannah Stage 1 on Monday.
The Savannah Wheelie is the first in what's intended to be a monthly, low-stress ride of about 4 miles. You can register for the post-ride Post Wheelie Dealie for $5-$12, which gets a BBQ sandwich, side, and a beer or soft drink, and goes to defray the live music and venue costs.
The Ride for Research starts in perennial BRAG rest break Pooler, and covers 27 or 42 miles. Registration is open to riders who have raised $250, but Gene links to an Active.com link that gives the next 100 registrants free entry.
